Wie zijn wij?

Auxfin Foundation is the nonprofit arm of Auxfin—a social enterprise creating inclusive digital ecosystems for rural communities in low-income countries. Our mission: social and financial inclusion for the 85% who don’t have access to traditional microfinance. Here’s how it works: We organize groups of 50 farming households and provide them with a tablet and access to our Digital Community Platform (DCP). Through this platform, they receive:

  • Agricultural support (weather info, best practices, fertiliser advice, and local pricing).

  • Health education and access to local services.

  • Financial literacy training and tailored coaching via local “finance coaches”.

  • Market access via our own online marketplace, where producers and buyers (including large multinationals, WFP and SMEs) connect. Here they can sell the goods they produce.

  • Credit access: because we gather reliable data, financial institutions are willing to offer loans to these communities at lower risk.

What’s the result?

Families increase their harvests, save money, access healthcare, connect to local and global markets, and gain new independence. This isn’t just theory—it’s happening in Burundi, Uganda, Burkina Faso and beyond, with 4+ million people using our tools. Our sustainable model is supported by donor funding in the first phase, allowing us to offer services for free when entering a new country. Over time, users pay low-cost subscriptions, and Auxfin receives a margin on transactions via its marketplace, creating a flywheel of sustainable growth. We partner with organizations like the World Food Programme, Dutch development institutions, and private sector partners to scale our work.
